וַיֹּאמֶר אֶת־קֹּלְךָ שָּׁמַעְתִי בַגָּן וָּאִירָּא כִי עֵירֹּם אָּנֹּכִי וָּאֵחָּבֵא.
Vayomer et-kolcha shamati bagan va'ira ki eirohm anochi va'eichave.
“And he answered: I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
Regularly, our responses to the Creator's calls have been and continue to be in line with our limitations, which is why our relationship with Him remains a lament due to our vulnerability, which fills us with fears. This is why the word קֹּלְ ךָ (Kolcha, Your voice), with a gematric value of 156, although related to divine communication, also reiterates that we have lost that deep connection and are now mediated by the duality of our perceptions.
He is fully aware that He remains connected to us, but we not only doubt this connection, but our communication also fails to interpret everything His wisdom, love, mercy, and everything He has granted us truly mean. Perhaps this is why the concept of יוסף (Yosef, Joseph), which also has a value of 156, gives us the idea of increase and multiplication.
The value 156 of קֹּלְ ךָ (Kolcha, Your voice), as it relates to יוסף (Yosef, Joseph), can also be interpreted as a call to growth and rectification, similar to the story of Joseph, who went from adversity to greatness through spiritual growth and reconciliation.
It is no coincidence that later in the biblical text this name is used to also speak to us of our Redeemer, who would come to the enslaving Egypt of our delusions to rescue us from our needs and unite us as a people amid our own indifference toward Him. This perspective also reiterates that the voice of the Creator, more than a sound that vibrates and makes creation flow, is a vehicle for the multiplication of knowledge and spiritual awareness.
From this perspective, the word for naked, עֵירֹּם (Eirohm), with a value of 320, related to the notion of total exposure, both physical and spiritual, projects the loss of divine protection and the awareness of one's imperfection and vulnerability, so that the concept of אָּנֹּכִי (Anochi, I), with a value of 81, leads us to identify with Him and not with everything that, when named, confuses our own identity.
The ego that distances us from that "I", value 81, which breaks down into 8+1, suggests the union of the finite and the infinite, indicating that even in its fallen state, man remains a combination of matter and spirit, finitude and infinitude. Therefore, paying attention to the delusions of the ego is not coherent.
The inner "I" differs from the exterior with which we identify and which keeps us hidden from Him וָּאֵחָּ בֵא (Va'eichave) with a value of 33, meaning that our hearts לִ בוֹת (Libot), which has a value of 32, remain emotionally distant from His rhythm, His vibration, His guidance, His divine presence.
We must not lose sight of the powerful impact of sin on our consciousness, so much so that it filled us with fear and shame, hiding us from the Creator. However, this transgression also calls us to draw closer emotionally, so that these feelings, which indicate our inner state, fill us with peace and confidence, enabling us to better hear His word, the same one that calls us to correction and growth.
This means that our vulnerability is what offers us the possibility of reconnection, for which we must lay bare our consciousness and expose our flaws, as well as the need for His protection and divine guidance to restore our spiritual integrity. Continuing to face our own fears and vulnerabilities without Him is absurd, making our repentance and introspection through prayer vital for our redemption and reintegration with the divine
