“And the earth brought forth vegetation: herb yielding seed according to its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed is in itself, according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”

Reflection

The earth's production of vegetation and fruit trees symbolizes the manifestation of the divine potential latent in the physical realm; therefore, our planet, which was initially only a receptacle, gradually becomes an active source of life, thus expressing the divine creative force.

Let us not lose sight of the fact that the same thing happens with our body and, especially, with our dark mind, which, like the Creator's when it contracted, allows us to coexist interdependently thanks to these fragments of His light.

Sparks that, when translated into our language, we transform into concepts that represent the idea of divine power that must manifest in our experiences, as long as we align ourselves with His will, flow in His harmony, and connect fraternally and helpfully with His work.

It is from this plan that our efforts produce fruit and spiritual growth, a proposal that individualizes us so we can achieve that unity with Him. This explains why each species produces His fruit, a context that underscores the importance of diversity within unity, where each plant and tree produces according to its own nature, complementing all creation with its fruits.

Each human being, therefore, has a unique purpose and function, and it is essential to recognize this in order to nurture our individual gifts and abilities in harmony with the whole. Continuing to distract ourselves from our responsibilities and squandering these ongoing opportunities for growth is perhaps one of our greatest historical mistakes.

"Esev," herb, (עֵשֶ ב ), has a gematric value of 162 (ע =70 ,ש =300 ,ב =2). By breaking down each of these signs and their values into 1 + 6 + 2 = 9, we can gain an idea of what truth and fulfillment are. Grass, though small and humble, plays a crucial role in the ecosystem, symbolizing the importance of every action and thought in the cycle of life.

Our cyclical nature of "etz pri" reflects, like that of grass, this continuity of life and the importance of constant renewal. Just as the earth produces vegetation and fruit trees, we too are called to cultivate our inner qualities and talents, allowing them to manifest in positive actions that contribute to the well-being of others and the development of our souls.

The intrinsic goodness in creation and in our own actions must be aligned; however, our debaucheries, the same ones that generate chaos, are solely responsible for leading us to ignore this goodness in ourselves and, therefore, to disqualify others, reproducing a negative perspective on life in the world. This same perspective fosters harsh, conflictive environments filled with doubt and diverts us from a path toward a development that, when understood as material, is selfish and distant from our spiritual purposes.

Let us keep in mind that the Earth, as a space for growth, not only contains that Source of physical or mental nourishment according to our interactions, but above all, a spiritual one. Therefore, the Earth must be seen as a medium through which divine energies flow into the physical world.

When the Earth produces vegetation, this not only refers to the physical food we consume, but also to the abundance of spiritual blessings we can receive through nature. Vegetation can symbolize the spiritual "substance" or "food" that nourishes our souls.

In Gematria, there are words connected to the idea of growth and abundance, such as "bread" (לחם , lechem), which has a specific numerical value. This food is not only necessary for physical survival but also nourishes our connection to the spiritual world.

In Kabbalah, eating is not only a physical act; it also has a spiritual dimension. The process of nourishing ourselves with the fruits of the Earth is related to our capacity for transformation. It is through what we eat that we can access spiritual elevation, and food becomes a vehicle for inner growth. The way we eat reflects how we nourish ourselves spiritually. For example, eating mindfully and with gratitude can take us to a higher level of consciousness.

Food that integrates into our physical being must therefore nourish us holistically so that our being functions harmoniously. Hence, each type of food has its own spiritual correspondence. Fruits and vegetables can be seen as manifestations of the divine energy that nourishes our body and soul. The act of consuming these foods is an act of integrating that energy into our being.

Integral growth in Kabbalah refers not only to physical growth, but also to spiritual and emotional growth. Human beings must nourish themselves with nature because it is through this connection with creation that they can elevate their souls. Kabbalah teaches us that everything in the world has a divine spark, and by connecting with the Earth and its products, we connect with those divine energies.

The numerical value of words like "soul" (נשמה, neshama) or "body" (גוף , guf) indicates how the body and soul must work together to achieve balance, a spiritual growth that transcends the material. The growth of plants and trees can be seen as a metaphor for our own spiritual growth. Just as plants need time, water, and sunlight to grow, we too need time, spiritual nourishment (such as Kabbalistic wisdom and teachings), and divine light for our holistic development.

Nourishing ourselves from the Earth is not only a matter of physical nourishment; it is also a way to reconnect with the divine cycle of creation. Vegetation, as a product of the Earth, is seen as a manifestation of divine abundance. In Kabbalah, the idea that "man must live by the bread that comes from the Earth" is also related to the concept that everything we need is already present in the material world; our task is to recognize it and utilize it in ways that contribute to our spiritual evolution.

According to Kabbalah and Gematria, the Earth, which produces vegetation, represents a source of both physical and spiritual sustenance. The way humans nourish ourselves with it is deeply connected to our holistic growth, as this act should be understood not only as a physical necessity, but as an opportunity to nourish our souls and achieve spiritual balance and development.
